Not a Global car after all!!

So I for one will be changing my Cruze for some thing else after GM's Decision and it will not be for another GM car.  :angry2: I can see the used value of Chevrolet's going right down right across Europe.

What is the background to this story, we here in Australia are bit too far from Europe to know what is happening.

And now GM is pulling out of Australia, too.

We never had the division into brands, GMH was GMH, that's all folks!

Well sales are very bad for the GM group in Europe and the fact that  Chevrolet is cannibalizing Opel and the Opel factories in Germany is subsidized by the German government so GM has decided Chevrolet has to go only the Camaro and Corvette will be sold (to the ones that afford one).

Thats the basic point in short...

So after 2015 you will not be able to buy a brand new 2016 Spark ,Cruze ,Trax .....and they think you gone choose for Opel ........but they are wrong ....

Who knows - presumably they'll be importing Opel, or Deawoo, or whatever, and re-badging them.

After all we should look for this from the higher point of view, not only by national or european but some global view, same like GM is looking for this case.

Loosing of western and central european markets is nothing for Chevy in the global aspect of selling. They even won't notice this :)

In PL they are selling about 10.000 chevys per year now and this is the highest number of their new cars ever.

How many new chevy cars are finding their owners in UK, France, Germany? Anybody have infos about it?

I think that nowadays the number of new chevys dropped down deeply and for whole  E.U. together is not more then 200.000 units per year.

So Chevy will survive without that local european market, but Opel won't. Anyways GM must recognize also that Opel is too expensive, so they should drop prices on Opel quickly.

Unfortunately, it seems that the problem is not only with Europe, but every other country, other than the US ... so GM also plans to pull the plug on Holden too.

This is data from 2011, and there is no direct mention to Europe ... but, I can say without any doubt, that Chevrolet is selling now more in the E.U. than it was back in 2011

That datas from 2011 which u showed up here, saw that in 2011 Europe didn't have even more then 100.000 units sold in order to overtake Colombian's market! :eek5:

That's a lot less then even i expected... Need to add also that in the last 2 years - 2012 and 2013 - sales of Chevy in the most of western and central european lands were down,

and only number of Chevys sold in Poland and Turkey was growing up quite rapidly, that's why many Poles is ungry for this step cause many of them planned to buy Chevy soon.

and in here too, Chevrolet went from a (almost) completely unknown company, to a fast growing company. And for some time, that every time I turn on TV, there is some Chevrolet commercial ... specially with the Cruze stationwagon
