Hi Guys,
Firstly, let me introduce myself to the forum as new owner of a Cruze LT 2.0 VCDi in Carbon Flash. So far, having only had the car for about 10 days, I can say that I am quite impressed with the build and look of it. The fuel consumption so far is another story..........................
My reason for posting is to find out if anyone has had a detatchable tow bar fitted ? I have found a link on fleabay for a westfalia (item 290435029693) and wanted to know what the dreaded bumper cut looks like. If any one has had a tow bar fitted can they post some piccys of the end result please?

Oh, and dont worry I am not a dreaded caravan owner :rant2:, its so that I can move my circuit racing MX5 around without having to use my Motor Home !

Thanks in adavance

Cheers Wolfy,
Hope everything went ok with you new delivery. When you get time a piccy would be appreciated, also can you post any details of the tow bar you had fitted (make etc) as the dealers in the UK only offer fixed "swan neck" type, not detatchable.
Thanks

Hi here are the pictures as promised used all of my 500k allotment now so i cant post more of them
you cannot see the attachments at all when the tow bar is not connected also the plug for the electrics is on a hinged bar so you can fold it away when not in use
so all in all you cannot see any thing the tow bar is easy put on 30 secs or less just pull and turn the black knob and push it in place turn the red Key (looks like a knob )
this locks it in place so it cannot be stolen (dont lose the KEY)
her is a quick video My link
link My link
My link 2
Hope this helps
ohh by the way the one i have is made by westfalia

Thanks Wolfy,

Can I take it that this is the Westfalia tow bar then?
Also I know I am being a complete pain but your rear photo has the sun smearing across it so I cant quite see if there is a bumber cut or not! Can you confirm either way, or maybe PM me with some more piccys?

Thanks

ok deleted the first picture, yes there is a bumper cut but it is on the undeside so you cannot seee it at all
in fact when i picked the car up i thought they had forgotten to instal it as i could not see it at all only when i opened the boot
and saw the swan neck i knew it was there somewhere.
i had to get on my knees and look under to see it .
hope you can see by this photo that it is invisable , i will put the swan neck on and put a photo up
but i will have to delete one photo first no space left on this forum LOL.
yes mine is the westfalia model

This topic had me going - in the US, most people call this a trailer hitch that would be used to tow a trailer behind you.

On the other hand, a tow bar goes in front and allows the vehicle (the Cruze) to be towed behind a camper.

Live and learn :)

Not just really sure, but I think 4 wheel online is selling a tow bar kit for the cruze check them up. The brand is B&W and Reese.
