Update for Maps and My Link

How does one update the map database and the My Link system itself? I've noticed when travelling that some roads are not in the database when I'm on them. I found a site that is selling an update, http://gmnavdisc.nav.../en_US/GMNA/USD, but they're charging for it. Is this an actual GM site? It seems that I shouldn't have to pay for updates, at least for the first few years my car is under warranty. And as I've found out before on other vehicles, and update may be hardly any better because you never know how much actual updating they've done.
