Hope this help other VCDI owners. It seems to be a general problem. But the workshops seems to have a hard time finding the problem. I had to solve this my self!

I have a similar problem but I don't think its coming from this bracket thats pictured.
How did you get on when you contacted the Dealer?

I have a 2011 Cruze from the U.S. with the 1.4L turbo. I am having a very similar problem. I can't seem to find the part you are talking about in my engine bay. Could it be because of the different setup? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 2011 Chevy Cruze with the 1.4L Ecotech (USA) engine and a rattle started in the dash at 1800 to 2000 rpm @ 12000 miles. I read several posts online and none solved the problem. I took a closer look and found the high pressure (lower) aluminum line going to the air conditioner evaporator in the firewall was tight as a guitar string. I could even pluck it and it would vibrate. I taped the line to the upper line (rubber hose) and the rattle went away. After removing the tape the line must have loosened because the line was not tight anymore. I have not had the rattle since. I could supply pictures later if anyone is interested.

Can you supply pictures please? I have a droning noise coming from the engine bay from between 1,500 and 2,000 RPM and I don't know where it is coming from. Any assistance solving would be appreciated.

Hi CruzeDK, On that bracket and/or the rubber hose going to it, can you see any part numbers on them? I sell Holden parts for a living and if I can enter the part number into the catalogue it will show me exactly what it does and where it goes if it's fitted to my car (I have 1.4 turbo). Cheers mate.

Had a rattle on mine last year and it was this same bracket that caused the noise.

Pushed it securely back onto the thread and not had the noise since.

Nergal, there are two places in your model that cause rattling sound;

1. in the middle top part of the firewall on the engine side there is a small bracket holding small hoses, that vibrates and rattles

2. the plastic intake air pipe right at the front top of the engine, above the radiator. it vibrates like crazy causing rattling sound. they are not difficult to find, anything that moves so violently that it makes your fingers numb when you hold on to it will cause rattling sound. I changed the screws and fixed it solid into the chassis, the original fixing is too flexible.

see how you go.
