Hi all, had an error code 82 appear on my driver info system. I plugged in a basic OBD2 diagnostic tool and found no codes. I looked in the manual and no code 82 appears. So i checked all lights, coolant and oil level. Only went after i filled the washer bottle. Guess we've got a washer level alarm??!!

Update.. seems its not a simple washer warning. Took the car to dealer today because it returned. Seems its an oil exhaustion warning (they think.... they're checking). Don't know what the story is as i changed oil with correct grade and type with Castrol edge sport for diesel particulate filtered engines... Hmm. Let you all know when i do.

had done 7300k's and changed oil and filter and now done 2000k's on new oil. I got castrol edge sport correct grade (5w 40 i think it was..) with the correct GM requirements met (its bloody expensive..). Still waiting to hear back from dealer.

Funny, in my danish manual, i have a complete list of possible codes that can display at the bordcomputer.
Code 82 = Change oil soon
.......
Wonder if the garage need to reset the oil wear system, at each oilchange.
The system works by monitoring the driving style. How long it idles, cold starts etc. etc.

Ah ok. Only have error 84 in the 80's in the Australian manual, but goes with what the dealer "thinks". Thanks mate!

Alrighty, to clear error 82, oil exhaustion warning if you want to change your own oil, turn the ignition to on without starting and fully depress accelerator pedal 3 times in 5 seconds then turn ignition off. Done.

Hi,
A bit off the topic, but I received an error code 79. Do you know what this stands for? I did not receive any explanation from my dealer.
